# Questions about firm os

Short answers to what firms ask most, each with the page that backs it.

## Can the maintainers see our data?

No. firm os and its data live in your own Cloudflare account, and the installer revokes its key when the install ends. It keeps only the install's record: what it made, and the account it is in, by ID and by name. [Security](https://firmos.railblocks.com/docs/security)

## Who pays what?

Cloudflare bills you directly: Workers Paid at $5 a month plus usage, sign-in free for up to 50 people, and model use. Railblocks' services are agreed separately. [Cost](https://firmos.railblocks.com/docs/cost)

## What do we need to install it?

A Cloudflare account on Workers Paid, a person who can press Allow in it, and the emails of the people who should get in. It takes about two minutes. [Install](https://firmos.railblocks.com/docs/install)

## What can the installer do in our account?

Only what the ten permissions on the Cloudflare Allow page cover, in the accounts you tick, for an hour at most. [Security](https://firmos.railblocks.com/docs/security)

## What if the install stops?

The page says why. **Try again** carries on from that step until an hour after the Allow, or sooner if the key Cloudflare gave runs out first; after that, remove what it made or set firm os up again. [Security](https://firmos.railblocks.com/docs/security)

## Can an agent install it for us?

An agent can post the plan and follow the install. A person signed in to Cloudflare presses Allow. [For agents](https://firmos.railblocks.com/docs/for-agents)

## Can we run it without the installer?

Yes, with Railblocks' engineers: they deploy it from the repository into your Cloudflare account. [What is firm os](https://firmos.railblocks.com/docs/what-is-firm-os)

## How do upgrades work?

The installer installs one release and hands its key back, so it never changes your install afterwards. A deployment run from the repository upgrades with `docs/firm-os/upgrading.md`. [Install](https://firmos.railblocks.com/docs/install)

## How do we remove it?

From the install's own page, with another Allow. It deletes firm os's parts, data included, and can't be undone. The account's own setup stays, even where the install made it: its workers.dev name, Zero Trust team, sign-in with email codes and AI Gateway `default`. [Remove](https://firmos.railblocks.com/docs/remove)

## Who can install it?

firm os is in closed beta with Railblocks' clients, and installs are by invite. Leave your email on the front page, and we'll write with the next step. [What is firm os](https://firmos.railblocks.com/docs/what-is-firm-os)
