What is firm os?
A workspace for VC and PE firms that runs in the firm's own Cloudflare account. It is in closed beta with Railblocks' clients, and installs are by invite.
firm os is a workspace for venture capital and private equity firms: one place for the firm's deals, people and knowledge, with apps and agents on top. It runs in the firm's own Cloudflare account, not in an account the maintainers run.
Who it is for
Partners, investment teams, and the operations people who run a firm's systems. An agent can prepare an install for a firm, but a person at the firm approves it on a Cloudflare page (for agents).
Where it runs
- In the firm's own Cloudflare account. The installer puts nine Workers, three key-value stores, one R2 bucket and a sign-in app into the one account the firm picks (install).
- Behind Cloudflare Access. People sign in with their email and a code Cloudflare sends them. Only people at the firm's email domains, and people the firm names, get in.
- With no standing access for the installer. The installer revokes its key to the account when the install ends, so it can no longer reach the account (security).
What it is made of
- Cloudflare OS, unmodified: workspaces, apps, chats with an agent, and gatekeepers, the doors to outside systems.
- A web app at
/firm/on the firm's address. - Blocks: apps for the investment lifecycle that a workspace can add.
- Jev, which labels records, and each person's private desk.
A Mac app signs in to the same address. It is not part of the install.
Status
- Closed beta: firm os runs with Railblocks' existing clients. Cloudflare bills the firm for what runs in its account (cost).
- Installs: by invite. The front page takes an email from anyone who wants to start.
