# firm os > A workspace for venture capital and private equity firms that runs in the firm's own Cloudflare account, with an agent beside each person. In closed beta with Railblocks' clients; installs are by invite. ## Key facts - **What:** one workspace for a firm's deals, people and knowledge, with blocks (apps for the investment lifecycle) and an agent beside each person. - **For:** venture capital and private equity firms: partners, investment teams and the people who run the firm's systems. - **Where it runs:** entirely in the firm's own Cloudflare account, on Cloudflare OS, unmodified. The firm owns its systems and its data. - **Status:** closed beta with Railblocks' existing clients. Installs are by invite; anyone can ask for access on the front page. - **Made by:** Railblocks. - **Cost:** Cloudflare bills the firm directly: Workers Paid at $5 a month plus usage, sign-in free for up to 50 people, and model use. Railblocks' services are agreed separately. - **Install:** one Allow, on a Cloudflare page, then about two minutes; removable from the install's own page. - **Agents:** an agent may prepare an install and follow it (the install API below); a person signed in to Cloudflare presses Allow. firm os gives a firm one workspace for its deals, people and knowledge, with blocks and agents on top. It runs entirely in the firm's own Cloudflare account, so the firm owns its systems and its data. ## Installing it - Needs: a Cloudflare account on the Workers Paid plan ($5 a month, paid to Cloudflare by the firm). - How: the firm's name and who's in (email and role), then one Allow, on a Cloudflare page. - Takes: about two minutes. - The key: the Allow, on a Cloudflare page, gives the installer a key for every account ticked on its page (tick only the one firm os goes into). It holds it for an hour at most, from the Allow until the install hands it back: while you pick the account, while it runs, and, if a step stops, so Try again can carry on. Then it revokes the key. It is never logged. - Makes: nine Workers (the router people open, the workspaces, the context store, the scheduler, error reports, a classifier, the desks, the data partners, an example door), three key-value stores, one storage bucket, and a sign-in rule for the people named and anyone at the firm's email domains. - Also makes sure the account has a workers.dev name, a Zero Trust team, sign-in with email codes and an AI Gateway, making each only if it is missing. These are the account's own setup. - Removing it: the install's own page has Remove firm os, which deletes what the install made for firm os and keeps the account's own setup. ## Docs - [What is firm os?](https://firmos.railblocks.com/docs/what-is-firm-os.md): A workspace for VC and PE firms that runs in the firm's own Cloudflare account.
